The experts tell us that the pandemic is still with us, although the effects are slowly coming under control. We understand the virus much better, we have effective vaccines and treatments, and the medical system is better able to handle cases that do arise.

We’re also venturing out more, and we have begun to see that rebounding sociability at ALI. Our registration and attendance numbers are climbing, and although in-person attendance is not back to pre-pandemic levels, we have added on-line capabilities so we are seeing attendance from people who were not able to participate before, including students in California, Florida, and Oklahoma!  And we are also seeing interest from some new instructors, about some fascinating new topics, so we are excited about the programs that we are lining up for the fall!

We want to thank all of you who have contributed to our programs, attended classes, volunteered to help, and of course made financial contributions beyond registration and fees. Your continued help will allow us to bring you even better programs as we enter the post-pandemic world together.

Now is also a good time to get our Kick Off meeting on your schedule, a fun event where you can meet our fall instructors, get tantalizing glimpses of the programs to come, and register for classes. The date will be Wednesday August 10, with times and location to be announced later. Keep an eye out for announcements as we finalize the details of the kickoff. We hope to see you there.
